Your Opportunity: Taylor Print & Visual Impressions is looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our team in Duluth, GA! In this role, you will support the packaging growth across the Taylor Print & Visual Impressions. The ideal candidate must have the ability to work across a broad-range of packaging types, and provide value to the customer while controlling overall costs. You will also work closely with internal customers across multiple locations and functional areas. 

Work Authorization: To be considered for the Taylor opportunities, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship. 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Develops new packaging concepts from concept through commercialization, using established processes 
  • Manages multiple projects of either a continuous improvement nature (cost savings, productivity gains, and process improvements) sustainability, or to fulfill a specific business need 
  • Serves as the technical lead in the creation of new/revision of existing packaging specifications across all phases of development 
  • Oversees plant trials in support of project implementations; reports against predetermined key performance indicators to gain adoption within the Operations team 
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of packaging specifications within SAP 
  • Identifies and implements material standardization opportunities 
  • Provides technical expertise to multiple functional areas (including but not limited to Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales & Marketing) to overcome business challenges 
  • Challenges conventional thinking on packaging related subjects by implementing creative solutions to continuous improvement activities 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

You Must Have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent working experience, in Package Engineering or a related Engineering field from an accredited university 
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with package development 
  • Proven project management skills; demonstrated ability to implement changes across multiple functional areas 
  • Strong problem solving abilities, judgment and decision-making skills supported by sound technical justification 
  • Working knowledge of a broad range of packaging materials and packaging equipment commonly found within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industries 
  • Ability to understand and apply broad business perspectives to our large, vertically integrated organization and translate that knowledge into project design plans 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, across all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to apply critical thinking strategies when translating customer needs/insights to viable packaging concepts 
  • Ability to analyze complex information and perform root cause analysis 
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook on an advanced level
